Getting to Know the Myth of Indrayanti Beach

Like many beaches on the south coast of Java, Indrayanti Beach is also not free from local myths. One of the most well-known myths is the prohibition on wearing green clothes when at the beach.

The color green is believed to be a color that is forbidden by the ruler of the South Sea, Nyi Roro Kidul. Even though this is just a myth, many visitors still respect the belief.

In addition, the logical reason behind this ban is because the green color is harder to see among the sea water which also has a bluish green color, so if there is an accident or a visitor is swept away by the current, it will be harder for the rescue team to detect it.
